Early Career & Business Leadership
Raised on Long Island, Steve earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan before graduating with honors from The George Washington University Law School. Upon returning to New York City, he embarked on a legal career that quickly diverged from conventional paths. Beginning in litigation at a general practice firm, he also worked on contracts, trusts, and estates. Recognizing the inefficiencies of litigation for clients, he sought a more strategic approach to problem-solving.
This realization led Steve to a pivotal career shift. An opportunity arose within his family’s business, where he took on the role of General Counsel. In addition to overseeing legal matters, he expanded his expertise by becoming Vice President of Sales and leading research initiatives. Over the course of two decades, he played a critical role in the company’s success, ultimately guiding it through a successful sale. This experience allowed Steve to develop a rare perspective — combining the precision of legal reasoning with the practical understanding of business operations.
